My Boo From Bogota
Valentine’s night, I broke it off clean,
With a smokin’ hot Colombian, Lord, what a scene.
She slammed the door, gave me a stare,
So i jumped in my boots, and got the hell outta there.
She had candles burnin’, roses on the shelf
Showed me her fire when I said “find yourself.”
When her heels hit the floor, I prayed real hard
Then i grabbed up my scissors and her gasoline card
Now I’m sleepin’ with one eye open,
Prayin’ that lock on my door ain’t broken.
Love that wild’ll leave you charred,
So I cut up that gal's gasoline card.
Yeah, sleepin’ with one eye open
Runnin’ for my life, hopin’ and copin’
Love got wild, left me scarred
Don't need a neck tie or a burnt up yard
She’s fire in heels, and danger in lace,
Heart like a pistol and a slap in the face.
Her perfume lingers like stick dynamite,
A spark away from a deadly night.
Now the jukebox plays and the beers line up,
The boys all cheer when I raise my cup.
They still say “Son, you’re a fool-
You don’t dump a woman like that, it’s the golden rule.”
Now I’m sleepin’ with one eye open,
Prayin’ that lock on my door ain’t broken.
Love that wild’ll leave you charred,
So I cut up that gal's gasoline card.
Yeah, sleepin’ with one eye open
Runnin’ for my life, hopin’ and copin’
Love got wild, left me scarred
Don't need a neck tie or a burnt up yard.
I’m not laughin’, cause it ain’t no joke,
A honky-tonk heartbreak goin' up in smoke.
Ain’t sayin’ I’m tough, just play’n my cards,
Countin’ my blessings I made it this far.
Some folks say love’s a dangerous game,
But I never thought it would end this way.
On Valentine’s night, I made my stand,
And ran for my life with scissors in hand.
Now I’m sleepin’ with one eye open,
Heart still poundin’, truth unspoken.
Cut up her gas card, thought I was free-
But I swear her shadow's still chasin' me.
Yeah, I’m sleepin’ with one eye open,
Lessons learned, bridges broken.
Cupid’s arrow sure missed by far,
Love still burns, left me scarred…
By my boo from Bogota and her gasoline card.
